Riley Horner, an Illinois teenager, was accidentally kicked in the head. As a result of the injury, her memory resets every two hours, and she wakes up thinking every day is June 11.

      So she’s right 12 times a year?

All jokes aside, that’s sad. At first it’s kinda cool to know that you don’t have to feel remorse for things that you can’t remember doing, but one day when you’re old and you see yourself in the mirror, and you don’t recognize yourself…. It’ll be horrific, especially once your family and friends start to pass away

    2. >“And unfortunately there’s no rhyme or reason what sticks and what doesn’t. This bothers her a lot. It’s hard in normal conversations and it’s very hard with nursing school.”

Glad she recovered. But, kinda scary she is a nurse

    3. Every 2 hours your self as off then dies and you liv again a new self. Fucking hell

    4. She’s better now but not cured…

“Riley still suffers from memory loss, not as bad as every two hours, but things just don’t stick all the time.

And unfortunately there’s no rhyme or reason what sticks and what doesn’t. This bothers her a lot. It’s hard in normal conversations and it’s very hard with nursing school.

The seizures are still a problem, too, but since all her college friends are also nursing majors, they’ve been a great help, and have been able to put Riley’s parents’ minds at ease, at least a little.”

This is very sad but imagine watching a movie for the first time that you absolutely love and then being like I get to watch it again for the first time! (as long as it’s under two hours i guess lol)

    6. Memory cannot “reset”. She has lost the ability to encode new long-term memory, hence why she thinks it’s the same day.

Source: I hope my psych degree is good for something.

    7. A similar thing happened to me. Didn’t last more than a day, though, thank-goodness. Oh, the other thing that was different was that my memory didn’t “re-set” every 2 hours, but every few minutes, according to my family members who were at the hospital with me.

This sounds like a plot of a book by Yoko Ogawa – The Housekeeper and the Professor.

I would try and kick her on the opposite side and see what happens.

I mean what worse could happen I could not imagine living like that confused all the time.

    10. Crazy how many jokes there are in this thread about a teenager enduring tragic suffering
